Note

Hello Everyone,

This is just a quick note to let everyone know that things continue to proceed as previously noted. As far as I, the keeper of this blog, have heard, Kortney continues to fight the fight and is glad to know everyone is praying for her healing. I will endeavor to find out anything new tomorrow. Sorry for the lack of updates so far this week...it has just been status quo.

Exciting and Interesting News - Update Day 3 Chemo

Kortney saw her Doctors last night and got some interesting news. She does not have CML nor ALL!! However, she does have a kind of cancer that has never before been seen, named, treated, etc. Good news is that the chromosome that holds this cancer reacts positively to the type of chemotherapy Kortney is receiving. The Doctor said Kortney's treatment and outcome of this cancer will be a first of it's kind. God is working things out for Kortney!!!!

Update regarding Kortney's health today: blood work looks good, her blood cell count is almost normal but she needed and received a blood transfusion today, her lymph nodes and spleen are almost back to normal size, yet Kortney is achy, fatigued, and fighting nausea from all the chemo, transfusion, and other medication she is taking.

Kortney and her parents have specific prayer requests for your consideration. Please continue to pray for a complete and miraculous healing. Also, please pray that Kortney's siblings' immune systems will be a healthy match for her necessary bone marrow transplant after the chemo treatment is completed.

Let's keep praying for the family and be sure to leave encouraging thoughts here in the comment section. They apprectiate your love and prayers.

Message from Kortney

i just want to thank everyone so very much. i do love and miss everyone. im excited for the work that god is gonna do in my life, and everyone else that is involved in my life. hes an awsome wonder, and no other power compares to him. i believe that. i cant wait for the moment the doctors inform me of what i already know that i am cured. today they came in... they did an rna test on my blood and the results were sapposed to be in today... but they cant find the cell that proves im in stage three of this cancer...(which would be chronic myelogenous leukemia with a lymphoid blast crisis). so in jesus name i claim that as of now i am in stage two. with ALL (accute lymphoblastic leukemia). they wont know the official diagnosis for another couple days so please pray with me in faith believing.! i love my jesus and i love all of you! thank you everyone for your kind thoughts, words, and most of all your prayers!

Two Days Chemo And God Is Working Things Out!

Kortney underwent her third full day of chemotherapy today. She has experienced some of the side effects that come from the chemo yet her spirits are high and she is keeping everyone entertained. Today, she had some lab work done. The RNA test that was done could not show ANY sign of the CML!!! The high white blood cell count that Kortney originally entered the hospital with has been decimated by the chemo and is down by about half. Because the RNA did not show any CML, a DNA test was done and the results will take somewhere around seven days. We need to keep praying and believing that the CML is eradicated in Kortney's DNA. If so, her diagnosis will revert to ALL, Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. ALL has a higher success rate of remission. This is excellent news and we are excited about what God is doing so far. The miracle is in progress! We just need to keep praying!!

This Blog....

This blog has been created to keep family and friends updated on Kortney's journey through her battle with Leukemia. It will be updated as we receive new information.

She has been tentatively diagnosed with CML, Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, and treatment options are currently being discussed. Kortney and her family have traveled to the San Francisco area while she is being treated initially. Please keep Kortney, her mom and dad, and her siblings in your prayers.

We serve a Great Big God who promises us that with His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 says, "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." Kortney and her family believe that God is working all things together for her good. As the Williams family fights this battle, let's agree with them and stand upon the promises of the Word of God.
